How We Built Wild Range Life: The Brand Story

February 13, 2026 11 views

Where we started, what we believe about gear and the outdoors, and why we think the Australian outdoor industry needed something different.

Where It Started

Wild Range Life did not start in a boardroom. It started with a problem every serious Australian outdoors person has encountered: gear designed for somewhere else, sold by people who have never used it in our conditions, at prices suggesting the margin matters more than the customer.

We have all bought a jacket that failed in its first real rain test. Boots that lasted one season. Waders that leaked before the second trip. And we have been told by an assistant who has never waded a Victorian river that this is the best wader available.

What We Believe

Gear should be tested in the conditions it is sold for β€” by people who grew up doing this, with personal experience of the specific failure modes that matter in Australian outdoors. Honest information about products, including their limitations, is more valuable than a sales pitch.

We believe outdoor products are tools that enable a way of life worth enabling. Hunting, fishing, farming, camping β€” these are not recreational hobbies to us. They are the way many Australians relate to the land they live on. We take that seriously.

What We Are Building

A brand Australian outdoors people can trust because it tells the truth. A range selected with genuine rigour. Content written by people with actual knowledge of what they discuss.

We are early in that build. But the intention is clear. Browse our product range and if something is not right for your conditions, we will tell you.
